Making Cranes in 4th GradeWhile packing for my upcoming trip and looking through my itinerary, I was reminded of the paper crane project that the 4th grade participated in back in April. The fourth grade classes worked together to make one thousand paper cranes to serve as a visual reminder for world peace, hope, and healing. The cranes were hung near the main entrance of the school for a week before they were shipped off to Japan, where I will be reunited with them in a few days when I visit Hiroshima. Seeing the paper cranes again will be a wonderful reminder of my students. Although I will be on the other side of the world, it will feel like they are right there with me as I place them at the Children's Peace Monument.
