Final Day in JapanWell the time has come for my last blog post. I’m sad to say “see you” to Japan, but I am excited to go home and share my adventures with people. I’m also excited to see Scott and Penny (hubby and puppy).
As soon as I got all my belongings together I headed to the lobby to meet Mr. Drew. Since I have a late flight we got to spend more time adventuring around Tokyo. The first thing we did was walk to the Imperial Palace to check out the grounds. While walking through the city with all these incredibly tall, modern buildings we see a grave that the City of Tokyo will not remove. There lies the rebellious warrior, Masakado. Masakado was beheaded by his cousin because he had murdered a local governor. His head was placed in this grave and became a ghostly spot in Tokyo, which is great because this time of year is known as the ghost season. Stopping at the grave and paying your respects to Masakado brings you a safe return, obviously we had to stop! We continued our walk and Mr. Drew crushed it with the history lessons, I learned some much! We took a stroll around the East Garden. After existing the East Garden we made our way to the National Garden Plaza to see the very cool Black Pine Trees (Pinus Thunbergii).
Once we left the plaza we took a short cab ride to Ginza. We stopped to take a look at the Kabuki theater. We walked around some more went into a couple of shops and got a yummy waffle to snack on.
